Rosewood or Mahogany for Strumming?

Rosewood or Mahogany for strumming? In today's episode we're discussing a topic that's been both debated - and recycled, in the last few weeks. When it comes to tonewood preferences, do you prefer rosewood or mahogany for strumming? Maury made this the subject of episode 162 of "Guitar Store Virtual tour" back in June. Shortly after that live stream ended, he posed the same question on the Acoustic Guitar Forum. That thread quickly filled up with thoughtful replies & opinions - and that's what we'll be chatting about today. Sit back & relax as Maury & Spoon get their mahogany vs rosewood chat on.

This podcast features the conversation and opinions of musician T Spoon Phillips. A writer by trade, Spoon's longtime association with professional musicians, luthiers, and music historians affords him a richly unique perspective on all things acoustic guitar. This includes decades of close friendship with executives and employee at C. F. Martin & Company, past and present, and the host of this podcast, Maury Rutch of Maury’s Music.
